norlys – Archive

Go back to any day in the archive and read the solar wind, the Lys index and the aurora model of it against one another, on one shared time axis and one shared pointer.

The archive replays past days of aurora activity: the solar wind measured at L1 and the Lys index of geomagnetic activity back to January 2025, and the norlys aurora model for the most recent days, side by side on one time axis. Use it to look back at a geomagnetic storm or a night of aurora and see how it unfolded, from the Sun to the Earth.

Pick a day — or drag across up to 3 — to see the solar wind, the Lys Index (how disturbed the magnetosphere was) and the aurora model as they were.
